An improvised bow clamp
« on: March 29, 2013, 05:19:30 pm »
So, while laminating up a bow tip, I didnt have enough clamps, so I did what any bowyer would have done.... Improvised! I am sure I am not the first to think of this, but here it is, and I think the pic is self explanatory. But, just in case... Get two blocks of wood, space them out just shy of how thick the clamping surface is thick. Wrap a cordage around the one end, slide the cordage wrapped blocks over the surface to be clamped, then squeeze the opposite ends togeather and hold them with a pair of vice grips, or just tie more cordage around. They act like a nutcracker, only instead, your clamping wood.

Tread softly and carry a bent stick.

Dont seek your happiness through the approval of others
