The Crowned King (Osage character bow)
« on: March 16, 2013, 04:05:08 am »
Here is my latest bow. It is an Osage Orange american flatbow with some character.
It is 67" ntn, 55# @ 28".
The stave was generously gifted by Steve b. Thanks again!
The tips are from a piece of maple burl that Dan K gave to me. I'm quite pleased with how they turned out. That's where the bow got it's name, the top tip looks a little like a crown.
The finish is 7 coats of tru-oil polished down with steel wool and pumice powder.
The string is 12 strands of Fastflight.
The photo's were done by my friend Bodeene of Bodeene Berrevoets' Photography.
Thanks for looking.

this bow is truely stunning. If it were mine i would find it hard to put it down let alone give it to anybody. If you do give it to someone it must take a lot to be willing to give it up.

That's a beauty Weylin. Tips, grip, finish and character all seem to just flow together in that bow. Your friend did some great photos
also.

I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Pretty nice piece of sage! Looks like a molar crown on the one tip. Nice job!
