Mulberry Recurve
« on: March 14, 2013, 01:48:15 am »
I made this bow for one of my friends wife. I made him a mulberry bow about 3-4 years ago and he loves it and wanted to be able to shoot with his wife. The bow is hickory backed mulberry 60" ntn 1 1/2" at the fades to 1/4" tips. It pulls 30# at 26". The recurves have a reinforcing strip of tamarisk in them, the handle is made from black walnut with a strip of mulberry through it. The overlays are pink Ivory, she said she wanted a girly bow so I tried to keep that in mind while making it. And as kind of a nice touch I put a piece of mulberry from her husbands bow under the overlays. I had alot of fun making this bow hope you guys like it.  ;)

Nice job, Justin. Sweet tips and curves!

That thing is tasty man!
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

wow, very nicely made...real elegant craftsmanship!  and like the pink fingernails at the tips
you call that two inches of set? well...looks pretty dang straight now anyway!
