They make great fire started. I use mine to light our wood stove every night.

Fire! Fire!  >:D   Be careful dumping a bucket of sawdust on a fire.  When it reaches the right air mixture it flares up like you poured some gas on it.  Only took me once to figure that one out  ;)
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Save some for Christmas tree decore  ;D

Through your osage curls in some alcohol, makes a yellow dye.

Burn em!

if you have a need for a light yellow dye Osage's yellow color comes from a water soluble dye. Take the shavings and soak them in water overnight to get a yellow dye.

Yes Sir,

You can also use Shavings as Flower Bed Mulch.
Depending on the type of wood (Osage) you can make Dye or Stain.
You can Compost some types of wood, the Whites woods work best for me.
ERC makes good Garden Mulch as many bugs don't like it.
Some types of wood can be used in the bottom of Flower Pots to keep the soil up off the bottom of the pot.
Some types can (ERC, Rosewood, Others?) can be put into tight mesh bags or Cheese Cloth bags and used
in your Unmentionables drawers to make your small cloths smell nice.

And in a pinch some types of wood could be used as insulation...
Or to fire your Still.
Or used to age your Shine (Oak)... :)

I'm sure there are many other uses...

I burn about 80 gallons worth every six weeks. HOT HOT HOT!
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

I leave mine in the floor every night to dry and start my fire with them the next night. I've got a nice hand made wood burning stove in my shop that I inherited when we bought our house. Osage shaving burn GREAT!!! I don't think my wife would take to kindly to bright yellow mulch in our flower bed.  >:D

I use my Hickory and Oak shavings for smoking meat.
Giving it your best effort is what anyone should expect.

I have a friend who is into gardening and he eagerly takes all the shavings that I can produce. I'm not sure exactly what he does with them though.
