Cane Build

Began my first try this morning. Here is where I am.
4 shafts, straight, sanded, cut to length.
Lowes garden stakes, large ends are 10MM.

I have my first ever arrow complete.
10MM large end.
Chicken feather fletching. (Compliments of a Red Ranger rooster that is scheduled for the auction next week)
All wrappings done with cotton thread, soaked with carpenter's glue.
Fletchings wrapped at both ends, then glued with carpenter's glue along the shaft.
Galvanized 12D 3" nail for a target point, glued in with Gorilla glue.
Nodes and shaft sanded with 240 grit.
Sealed with acrylic matte finish sealer.
Decorated with Red/Blue/Red rings.

That is a great buildalong, and as this post shows it teaches people to make great arrows...  How long did it take to sand the nodes with 240 grit sandpaper?

A few minutes per node.
Lay the paper on the table, slowly rotating the shaft while going back and forth with the shaft.

I wrapped 60 grit around the cane and sanded the whole length, then smoothed it with 120, took 2 min per arrow. Be careful with that bamboo dust, it's especially bad for your lungs
