string nock?

Just curious.

How many of you guys use string nocks?
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

I do, tie on adjustable string nocks. One above and one below the arrow.

I do.  I tie one on with Dacron, Dental Floss or whatever I have handy.  I believe in the consistency of placing the arrow at the same place, every time.  Or, at least I don't have that to blame it on when my shooting sub-par... :-\

I do because I don't want to stumble to find the spot to nock an arrow when I'm hunting. Of course when I tie one on I usually find I have to move it again at some point because I never seem to get it right the first time. :o
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

I do too.  I use a couple wraps of 1/8" wide tape just above where my arrow rests on the string.  I used to use the little brass crimp on types but got away from that when I started using my bare fingers instead of a glove.  I think the string nock helps with consistency and like Badly Bent said, when you are hunting, you want to be sure that you are going to be leaving nothing to chance.

On more primitive style bows I don't. I have shot lots of bows without string nocks because I shoot every bow I make. You can develop a feel for it.
On bows I intend to hunt with I do tie on a string nock for obvious reasons.

I tie two using waxed nylong lacing cord. I wish I'd tacken a reel of the stuff when I left my job about 30 years ago, they used tons of it for lacing up wiring harnesses in radar systems, I expect they use cable ties these days.
I'm down to my last few feet.... (gotta be a joke there somewhere... with my 9 lives and 4 feet)

All it will take is for one arrow to slide up a string while you are shooting, and you will put a string nock on after that, I promise you.

I tie one with dental floss. A couple drops of super glue and when its dry you can twist it up or down the serving just like a nut on a bolt.
