Being in this year's bow trade and researching my victim, I realized that I haven't posted any of the bows I've made recently. So, here's this one. It's from the belly split from a stave I made a bow out of last year. Since there wasn't much wood to work with I decide to keep it simple. Should be a weekend project, yeah right. haha I ran into a diagonal pin knot right at the fade. This knot wasn't visible untill I removed the wood down to floor. The knot came out the side of the limb about 1/16 up from the back of the bow. Not a good place for a pin knot. So, I extended the fade/sight window on the upper limb.
The stave had a prop twist so that needed to heat corrected and I wanted to heat in some reflex. Then I wanted to flip the tips slightly. While I was waiting for it to stablize, PatB posted a bow with a round belly. That looks cool, I'll give that a try, I thought. Having never crowned the belly of a bow, I took my tillering really slow. So, my weekend project took 3 weeks to get to the shooting stage. But, I loved the process. Rounding the belly, taking narrow, thin sliver of gold from the wood was quite a Zen experience.

58" ntn, 50 @ 26"
1.2" wide at the fade to mid-limb tapering to 3/8
The top limb has a little "S" curve 4" from the tip and pin knot on the side at mid-limb
Slightly bendy handle. I can feel it start to bend at about 20" through full draw.
The camera snapped at about 24 or 25 inches. I'll get more pics tomorrow when I shoot it in.
