hedge, first off he has the bow to full brace so I know he's pulled it to 15", I leave my bows braced when i'm tillering and scrape where I need, but if you don't exercise the limbs they wont release their shape, and  you stand the risk of  missing target weight or messing up the tiller further, if you just scrape till it is even without exercising the limbs all kinds of things can go wrong.
actually bracing and unbracing a bow is bad for the bow imo.
don't know if that made any sense it's 2 a.m. and i'm tired

It's a lot quicker if you leave it braced as well. By the time you get to short string ,there should only be touch up and minor weight reduction to do. If you're nervous about nicking the string , you can put a plastic strip on the back of your scraper. I pick them up at Staples Business Depot. They are used for the edge of  clear document covers to hold the papers inside.Cut them to the length you need. I exercise the bow between 30-50 times between each  material removal.

Bubby, thanks.  We're pretty much on the same. :)  I did miss the part that muffin had already pulled the bow to 26".  I agree you have to work the bow after wood removal for the adjustments to settle in.  Since he's already pulled the bow to 26" you're suggestion of working it at 15" then progressing makes A LOT of sense.  Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

So this 2012 swap ended about 5 months ago and about 30% still haven't shipped. That's embarrassing.

+1.  I would be embarrassed to show my face here if I never followed through on that. stuff like that will destroy these great trades. No one will be willing to police it and no one should be expected to do it

Oddly enough, three of the guys that didn't ship in this trade are also involved in the 2013 PA swap.

Im not any fun to play with Bryce. It wont be easy for them if things don't get resolved very soon.
