Fresh out the form. Hickory recurve. This should be the right link to the right pic.

Ok boys and girls, since everyone seams to be about done with their bow id best get started on mine...i have it narrowed down to 2 possible staves got a mn.osage cut out and a yella roller coaster.almost down to a ring...im leaning twards the mn.osage (slippery elm)since i cut it my self...adds to the personalization...what yall think???

Some awesome looking builds going on here. Like Greg, Im building 2 and my victim will get the better one of them. One will be an orange bendy handle and the other will be a yeller stiff handle, both well seasoned, not sure about dry but well seasoned for sure ;). Both pieces have great ring ratio with the orange having thinner rings but less earlywood.

Nice osage you got there Okie, I'm betting you get two good bows out of those.
FlintWalker, that bend in your bow is a thing of beauty.
Soy that osage of yours would be a real challenge for me, should be interesting build if you choose that one. :)

I  removed the bark on one which revealed a problem looking knot. I got the outside layer of bark off another one last night and need to remove the last thin layer but it's looking like it will work for me so far. I am going out of town for about two weeks of work so I wont be getting much else done until I get back. I am commited to taking it slow and easy on this trade bow and build the best bow I can out of the wood. I took some pics but still havn't learned to post them yet. I think my trouble was not resizing pics before trying to post. I'll see yall in about two weeks.
