Some great looking bows being worked on. DVS, trully beautiful...love the snake skins! Are they a type of water snake, I have on skin similar to it.

Got the hhb tweaked on the tiller after it came off the form. Right now it is 52#@27", and looking good. Still haven't shot it, but will start this week. Plan on putting overlays on the tips, but going to shoot it in first. Also got both the osage bows straightened and reflex added, will start tillering them soon.

Figures my first ever "lost" shipment would be my swap bow. It was out for delivery Friday as planned, now its in another state heading back to the state it was to be delivered in. Cross your fingers!

Thanks Greg. It was a water snake. I got it from a kid that used to live here in my neighborhood. He moved and I had the skin for a few years and never got a match. I decided to split it and use it. I'm glad I did. :D

Kipwinger, all my pics come from my HTC EVO cell phone. Once I figured out it actually takes good pics if you focus, clean the lens, hold still and adjust the settings, I was able to get some decent pics. That's a pet peev of mine. It's pretty easy to take decent pics. I read in the bom thread a phrase that goes something alpong the loo.es of, "You spend so much time working on all the details and such why not take some decent pics of the bow?"
A lot old times it is as simple as a better background. A bow pic taken I'm my backyard might have some houses or old toys in it so I just crop them out. They distract from the bow. Also, I get as close as I can to show detail and fill the frame. Most camera have a quick setting for close detail shots.

I hope I didn't sound preachy. I just am hopelessly addicted to bow porn and its better with better pics. Sorry for the rant.

Plan A is a Bamboo Backed Lemonwood. I have the profile cut on this one. Now I need to get it bending enough for the glue up.

Plan B is a Vine Maple bow. I got the Deflex evened up this weekend and have it close to floor tillered.

They say its out for delivery today Kip. We shall see. I hate the thought of replacing it. It was the right bow for this person and what they do with their bows.

Well I got a message from the wife today while I was working saying I got a long package in the mail and it said from Pearl Drums!!! I was so excited to get out of the mountians and open it!! Of course the rest of the day drug on slower than normal. When I got home this is what I got!!!!!!! I will say the pictures dont do it justice and they dont show my true excitement as I have always wanted a PEARL bow!!









THIS THING WAS VERY WELL PACKED!!!!!!!! It was torture trying to get it out of the wrap lol :laugh:

Working the trade bow this past weekend.  Thanks Pappy for taking the pictures.

Hickory longbow.  Working it out at 66"  Should make a good one if I treat it well.  If not I'll just start on another.   :)
