Pearly, Pike it 2 inches on each end, sinew the back with it reverse braced 4-5 inches, and paint it black...
...OR you could just leave it EXACTLY like it is 'cause it is PURFECT for what it is!

Your choice.  That's what cuul about building your own.  You can decide to live each day one day at a time free from the chains of your addiction, ...or you can indulge your insanity with rabid abandon.  You have the power within you to be whole, or to choose to live as a broken man that knows how bent backward his path actually is...   :o :o :o

I shot it 20-30 more times at 27" and its just too smooth and handy to not complete and pass on to ******  *********. I got one side skinned and heading down to do the other now. Osage, Prarie rattlers and sheep horn. Thats my kind of recipe!

Here is my 1st choice for my trade bow. The cleanest, seasoned osage I have. Only one small pin knot in the whole thing. Some natural wiggles to clean up but nothing crazy. 61" overall.  I thinkin R/D.

I ordered my stave from Dean Marlow, just waiting for it in the mail. I decided not to use the vine maple. I'm going with some osage instead. We'll see what the wood tells me to do but I'm thinking of doing my first static recurve.

Figured I may as well chime in. I'm working a couple of really clean, straight grained Maple boards right now and I may pull out a slippery elm stave I've been seasoning. The one maple board is 72" long and 2.5" wide. So I'm going with a pyramid style bow, 5" handle, 1.5" fade out from the 1.5" wide handle and then it tapers down to .5" tips. The other is 66" over all, 5" handle, 1.5" flade out to the 2.5" and then tapers down from there to .5" tips. I'm gonna use the left over wood on the board to glue on a handle to beef it up a little bit. I'm hoping to get them cut out this weekend and start floor tillering. I hope to post up some pictures at that time.

Break out the slippery elm stave Barry! I will send you another to replace it so you can make one for yourself later.
