Been along time
« on: January 12, 2013, 05:44:54 pm »
Since I've posted or even made a bow [it shows], about 3 years. But I do alot of reading here.
Now that I'm retired I can start working on bows again.
Just finished 2, one for my grandduagter and 1 for me.
I'll start with the little one first. Now I know there are alot of things wrong with it so I hope it will get better.
I'll do my bow in a different thread.
Osage
47" NtN   #15@17"
1 1/16" @ fades taper to 1/2"
black dyed tips
red serving on handle and tips.

I'm glad to get back at it.

Your right Del.
The limbs kept going back and forth. Light, strong, light, strong.

Nice little bow for your granddaughter Don. Gonna be a happy girl getting something special like that made from her grandpas hands.
Have to add that I agree with you and Del about the kids bows being harder to make than adult bows. :)

Great little bow, Don, glad you're back. I'm with Del, kid's bows are a nightmare for me. Thay are the grownup bows that come in too light.

Thanks fellas. Glad to be here again.
I've got 6 staves cut down to bow shape and more rough staves in the back room, just need to start on them.
One at a time.
Most are osage, some hickory, some hackberry and 1 mystery wood.
Waiting on the one special stave for some bull snake I've been saving.
