Light BBO questions

Hey all
So cleaning out my attic today and I found some stuff. I have a 3/8"x66" Osage board and lots of boo. I've never worked Osage at all but I was thinking with a 1/4" power lam and a 1/8th boo back maybe I could put together a light, 30ish pounder for my disabled friend. Any suggestions apreciated.

Sure ya could...or you could sandwich an 1/8" slat of something in between and get a hunting weight bow out of it by making it a Tri lam.

Yeah, don't make the bamboo thicker than with any other BBO. My favorite bow was done with a 7/16" slat and I put a full length 1/16" lam of walnut between the boo and the osage. You don't have to have a fancy lam grinder. I bandsawed the lam to just over 1/16 and cleaned up both sides with a toothing iron. Came in at 52#

Thanks. I'm going to add a bloodwood core. The powerlam attempt made me want to quit bowmaking!
