Oops..Bob I misspelled..its called Jicarillo and yes it is a real wood..pretty grained stuff too. I got it from the rockleor store on mcknight road (19) north side of pitt. They got all kinds of exotics and woodworking stuff

Looks like turkey spurs to me or maybe they have some exotic purpose - pinning snakes, twisting varmints out of dens, blocking sword strikes, or such. Nicely done.

That is so messed up, it's cool! That has got to be the most unique bow I've seen for a while! Nice work on what must have been a whacky stave. Amazing. Really.
