Sure is handsome.  Great to see little differences in bows every now and then like your sap wood handle.

Beautiful interpretation with the inclusion of the sapwood. Love it. If you keep it out of the sun most of the time it will take longer to turn dark. I don't think it will matter what you finish it with there will be no way to keep osage from turning dark over time other than to keep it out of the sun when your not using it. We can at least enjoy the contrast for now. I think you may have just started a trend. Next time I harvest some osage I will be leaving some sap wood on the tips and the handle area of a few staves.
Now then.....we want full draw....we want full draw.  Lol    Danny

The drive back was great.
I had a buncha bow wood piled in my sleeping quarters but hey, I can compromise. About half of my VM had some gnarly bug damage. It didnt notice till I got home :(
I now have enough dry Ocean Spray for years...

I agree with another poster, you may have started a trend.
I just got my first osage stave too, I was thinking about leaving the sap wood on all together, tight rings on that one. Or I may just go your route.

Either way very fine work.
And congrats on the deer earlier this year.

Full draw is up on original page.

Thank you dwardo

Thanks pappy

Thanks Parnell, I always try and do some sort of art. Then someone informed me that my bows where art just a different medium other than paint and pencil. That's why it's 'Artisan' work. Not craftsman work :)

Thank you sidewinder, I thought, why glue on overlays a risers when it's already right there in nature.

Sharp, the scenery was probably awesome! I'm not against starting a trend :)
Sorry to hear about the VM:(
You need to post that gambles oak bow! That's a beauty for sure!

Take all the sapwood off, except where you want it. From what I've been told its useless weight.
