Beautiful bow. I love how you left the sapwood on just the handle. Stunningly beautiful. Hehe, I bet you 5 bucks that was one of the osage staves I sold steve a while back.  ;D A sister stave (or brother stave, it was a decent sized family) went to a guy in norway, who made a flight bow out of one of em, and according to him got 357 yards on his first shot with it. Good stuff that batch.

EDIT: I didn't catch that you left the sapwood on the nocks as well, they looked so much like overlays! Very slick! Never seen that before...

Bryce, that is all around gorgeous!  Like everybody else, I really like the sapwood riser and tips.  If they do end up turning black, that will look just as great!  Beautiful.

Thanks sharp, yeah unlike yew the sapwood is pretty hard. Once I'm done with some more of this yella wood I'm gonna move onto that juniper you handed me the other day. How was the drive back to New Mexico?

Okie64, hahaha come on man! I never said it was inferior lol if we look back on that thread you will see I stood up for osage haha, but no it's not bad at all ;)

Shaun, yeah I might try another. I got 4 staves left we'll see what comes around. It turned black!!!?? I used 4 coats Tru-oil we'll see what happeneds. Pfft! come on you know all the best bow makers live on the west side! >:D

Those are some tight rings, I know what you mean about being sore from scraping. I developed tendonitis once from scraping too much, thankfully rest fixed it.

Beautiful bow, like others have said, the sapwood is all that. Be sure and post again later in time to let us know if the sapwood changes color at all.

I echo the cries for a full draw shot.

That's one gorgeous looking osage bow Pinecone. I've made 16-20 from osage and none of mine looked that nice, you need to use this wood more often friend because it's apparent your can do right by it. Now lets see that FD cause I'm sure it will be as pretty as the rest of the pics. :)

Haha I know Chris I'm trying to get someone to take the picture but the woman was out spending my money all day today... And it gets dark around 4:30 so I don't have too much time.

Rps3, shoulder and forearm took a beating but that's alright it was worth it in the end.

Beautiful,looking forward to the full draw picture, finish work and brace tiller looks excellent. The sap wood left on is cool also.  :)
