new knife
« on: November 20, 2012, 02:42:43 pm »
made from s-30v stainless , 4" blade--4' handle , the Handel is a  Korean  war era .50cal fired casing, used by  my  uncle  when  he was there during the war.blade is a commercial , so  this is far  from a true custom  just thought id share. but i  like the  handle  of the  knife  for the  personal  history.

What a cool idea!  Did you epoxy the blade into the shell?

yes  filled it with wood filler  first and  made a cavity for the tang and  let that dry then  used cutlers epoxy on the  tang  no way will  it  turn loose.

That is very cool.  I've never seen a handle like that before.  Great job on it.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Very creative idea and really nice job!!
