Feather Burner
« on: November 09, 2012, 10:18:00 am »
I have a new Young feather burner for trade. It comes with 1 shield cut preshaped ribbon, and 3 new spare ribbons. I'm looking for osage wood, yew staves, or PM for other options.

Love my feather burner. I got the exact same one and wouldn't trade it for nothing.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

would you be interested in a nice black locust stave - sap wood removed, ring chased, back slathered in shellac.  If yes, I will get some pics up.

The stave is 74 inches long, no less than three and half inches wide, three plus inches deep.  Along its length it twists about 15-20 degrees which could easily be straightened, if you like, with dry heat.  It has been drying since Oct 31, 2011.   The sap wood has been removed a single ring has been chased.  The back has been sealed in shellac.  There is a tiny radial check in one end which does not come thru to the back ring and is an area which will be cut off anyway.  No knots to speak of.  A nice stave IMHO.

Sorry, but I could not figure out how to post these pics in a reply pm.  Let me know what you think.
