fast flight question

How much does ff string increase performance?  I have never had a good proper string, I made my only string from the strands from paracord.  And it really sucks.

Not exactly para cord. I used the nylon strands from inside of it to make a reverse twist.  It keeps getting loose so I decided to just buy a string instead of trying to make another

I'm not a good judge of performance, but I really like how it doesn't stretch.  I just switched from B-50 to FF and D-97.

Dont buy a string. making a flemish twist isn't that hard to learn and it will be much more cost effective if you buy a spool of FF and make a few for yourself. I recommend the tutorials on poorfolkbows.com. you can learn how to make a jig and to twist a string on that site. Good luck

FF is sooooooo much better in every respect.
At $30 a spool you will get many many strings from it.

Ill buy a spool next I just needed a good string soon cuz the one I have is falling apart. I'll check out that site and make a jig so I have it ready for when the spool comes and thatll give me time  to practice  as well. Thanks for the info guys, I love this site.

How long of a string do you need?  I have a few extra B-50 strings of different lengths.  If I have one that will fit, I'll send it to you.

My favored bow is 68 ntn so 65 is the string length right?

The longest one I have is 64".  Do you think that will work for you?  It is one of my earlier strings so it isn't real pretty, but it will work.  It's solid black.

I also switched from B50 to FF. In some cases, especially with lower dense wood, no good results (damaged bows). So one day I found BCY425X, and IMO this is a very good material with no creep and a bit of stretch witch is essential for primitve bows. Now I make all my strings with this material, strengthen it up at the ears with some short additional B50 leftovers. My strings are very thin, for example only 1,3 mm for a 70# bow, using2 x 6 strands.

There are alot of differnt FF out on the market, I'm interested what you guys are using ...
