Fine looking bow. I'm going to try that design with an elm stave I cut. The only other that I tried failed. Tiller stage has been my nemesis.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

Very nicely done! I'm glad the rawhide worked out for you. You've hit the tiller bullseye!

Good stuff man. I like the way you use the string wrap at the beggining of the lever. Almost looks like a bow with siyahs without the recurves. Nice job on the tiller to. Howd you like that white oak?

I like the white oak fine. Howard (hrhodes) was braggin on some white oak staves he had heat treated with some success so, since my lumber mill was out of any good hard maple, I checked the white oak stack and found a good flat-sawn board that looked almost like a center piece with really straight grain on either side of the pith. It was really heavy and seemed quite dense. Even with the straight grain, I added rawhide protection since I was going to skin it. I also slightly heat treated the belly. I was kinda sloppy when staining the wood at the levers which is why the wraps are so wide. I should have used tape.

Awesome!
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?
