Just finished a rawhide backed maple bow, 66" 50#@28". This was the first time I used rawhide, wanted to give it a try, the bow had really nice grain and it probably didn't need it, but I wanted this bow to be bullet proof. the stain was light with poly to accent the grain it is a honey color. I really love maple, it is by far my local wood of choice. There was a little twist to the limbs that I heat bent out, the back was left plain and if you've seen my other bows you know I like to paint them up with various art, but the person I made it for requested it to be plain so he could adorn it himself . This bow needs no string silencers since it is whisper quiet, man made leather grip, leather strike plate and arrow rest. I was plugging bullseyes the first time it was strung and shot.
