"waterlogged" spine tester
« on: September 11, 2012, 11:22:41 pm »
Anyone build one of these?  I've read the build a long, and have a question.  He states in the assembly section to nail the middle "pivot" into the centerline of the board.  One of his pics, however, looks like the nail that catches on the arrow where the weight is placed is on centerline, which makes more sense to me.  Any ideas?

Where the middle of arrow pushes down on nail needs to be in middle of tester to measure deflection at that point

That was my thought as well, but his instructions state otherwise.  Thanks!

I missed something here. Where did you find this? I'd like to look at it.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

thats the one. I built it, works great.  My question is do you take the correct spine reading fom the stiff side of the shaft that goes against the bow, or one of the lower reading sides, or an avg, or ?????

You want stiff side measurement as this is.what affects the flight from ur bow the most...the way it bends around bow upon release
