Bare shaft tuning

From what I gather it seems most trim excess length off the front of the shaft when bare shaft tuning. Would'nt it be easier to take it off the back end. Set the point well, and only cut enough of a nock to be functional until satisfied. I would think that continualy trimming the point end, especially with bamboo could get tiresome real quick.

Yeah, you can do that if you are lazy or have trouble getting a point perfectly centered. 

I prefer to take my extra length out of the middle.   8)
