Fathers day surprise.....hhb 5 curve "the lesser half"
« on: June 18, 2012, 10:53:14 pm »
I went to a 3d shoot this weekend with some fellow PA guys. We had a awesome time. At the end of the shoot Blackhawk invited me over to his van to show me some of his winters work. As he pulled out bow after bow we admired them all. He was pulling the last one out and I said to myself in my head "boy thats a nice one". He handed me the bow and said check out the stats on that one. I worked my eyes up and down the bow until i came to the part that said to Jon Houk from blackhawk. Needless to say I was deeply touched. I immediately gave my thanks and Chris replied..."your all the time making bows for people, its a bout time someone makes one for you". After some hand shakes (and a manly hug) we were off to the range. I shoot a handful of arrows and had a nice tight group at twenty yards...Its a real shooter!!! Its 60#@26" and draws really nice. It seems really nice the last four inches...really opens up. i love it!!! The bow is hop hornbeam and is 64" long. The handle is slightly set back and has a five curve profile.

The bow is named "the lesser half" and heres why http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,33329.0.html . i got a real chuckle over this thread when I seen it. When I is seen the lesser half on the bow I new exactly where the name came from. I don't know Pearly....I might have the better half...Lol

Heres some pic of the bow

I would like to thank you again Chris...Its a great shooter!!

Jon

Oh yeah! I would love to have seen the look on your face when you checked out the "stats". Nice bow and gesture, Blackhawk!

I happen to think it is about time Karma catches up with you.  You had it coming to you, pal.

Enjoy it!

Rock on!!!that is one heck of a bow :o however an invitation to a mans van can go one of two ways...glad it worked to your favor.... i think blackhawk may need to invest in a semi trailer for all the work he puts out  >:D
