Hi All,
This is the yew mostly sapwood bow i have been trying to get finished and finaly its done, well nothing i ever do i can consider done but its good for now
After some debate i heat treated it twice, a slow deep heat treat rather that a belly temper. This i think helped no end with the sapwood ratio of lots to little heart wood.
The bow lays flat when unstrung with just the lightly flipped tips. Rubbish unstrung photo below but you get the idea.
The bow is 60 ntn, thin layer of heartwood sapwood was the origional ring under the bark. I didnt facy chasing a ring on a bumpy back like that! hence the tarting out and reducing the belly
She draws about 55lbs at 28 inch and lets rip. Not as fast as some of my white wood bows. On refelection I could have reduced the tips a lot more but i needed to move on. The nock overlays are deer antler.
Thanks for looking all.
