Well, well it’s good to see a heart beat here.

Very nice Outback. I’m hoping to see some more in the coming months. I’ll try. Usually have a little more time to knap in the winter.

That’s the spirit Russell. Look forward to seeing your point.

Hope to have till March to spend in the shop. Just been happy making madison like points for awhile now, figured this was a good oppertunity to try something different. Never even thought about trying a corner tang before, so had to do a bit of research on them 1st. they turned out ok. Hope to haft them up this weekend. Might try again now that I got a couple under my belt.

That’s great Mike. Glad to see you here for the challenge. I’m hoping to have some time until spring to. Although I know I’m going to have a busier than normal winter. We have a lot of work to do in the shop this winter.

One of the truck drivers that deliver the Biosolids wanted a glass knife.

I decided it was a good opportunity to try another corner notch

Have a piece of cholla from Jeb for a handle.

I hope he likes it. I’m pretty sure he will

I’ll be watching for it Russell. Was hoping you were still up to the challenge.

Still have about ten days yet before the end of the month and year yet everyone.

Remember. It’s not a contest, but a challenge to yourself to make a point that someone chooses each month. Don’t be afraid to share them. Believe me. I’m still by no means a expert knapper. It’s taken me 6 years to get where I am. Challenging myself to the point of the month definitely upped my game.

Hope you give it a try and start thinking about next months point. Let’s see if we can do a whole year!!

That’s right outback. We should pick one soon so we all have time to make one before the month is over. Sure would be great to do a whole year.

Have not tried but been wanting to for some time is an Ashtabula style point. Sorry no picture but its a stemmed point that sometimes flares out at the basal end. Angle at shoulder is over 90 degrees. In general they are  50-150mm, so 2-6 inches in length. I think a point of that style leaves a lot of opportunity for different skill levels.

Ill try and give it a shot today and if successful post a pic. But could go in a different direction if someone has another idea.
