Static osage recurve

I've had this one done a week or so, but I needed to do some more tip work on it..but finally finished it up. A true static Osage recurve. Its 59.5" long tip to tip. and 68# @ 26" unbacked! It is an arrow screamer for sure. my 60-65 spined shafts are a tad to light for it, gonna have to get some 70's. The tips line up very well, string tracks perfectly without any twist. The tips are Pronghorn Antelope horn. the tips have a couple streaks in them that is down into the horn which i'm not crazy about but they have some awesome translucent spots in them that kinda make up for it..lol. Im am super pleased with this one. My best 'curve to date for sure. Thanks for lookin at it! Ryan

Nice hooks on that baby, Ryan. That is a very sweet looking recurve and the tiller is spot on!  8)

Wow!  That is incredible!  I haven't made a recurve yet, so I can't fully appreciate all the work that went into it, but I'm thouroughly impressed.

Incredible bow... I bookmarked this one for future reference..  >:D >:D Puts most static recurves I've seen to shame.. Incredible!

Do you have any pics of the caul you used to bend those tips! It must have been 90 degrees!

thanks a lot guys, yeah i want one that really hooked..i was sweating it hard hoping not to lift a splinter or crack it..lol  my form is a tad OVER 90 degress..lol    but i steamed it for about an hour (each limb)  and bent it in 1 fluid motion and clamped it down for a couple hours.  a little curve always comes out and i wanted to make sure it kept nearly 90 degrees of bend.  never lifted a single splinter or cracked the belly.  definitely the best curving I have done to date!

oh and this thing screams an arrow. i have found in the past that the static curves dont usually add much speed, but this one must be an exception. probably the 68# that feels really smooth b\c of the curves..lol   whatever the reason its hard to believe the 60-65 spined shafts are a bit too light for it, i had to cut em down a bit and put lighter points on to get better arrow flight
