Black Walnut Finished pics added
« on: March 24, 2012, 11:22:01 pm »
Been working sporadically on this bow for quite a while and today I finally managed to get a string on it. I put about 60 arrows through it this afternoon and so far its holding even tiller. I'll shoot it a bunch the next couple of days and if it makes it alright I'll finish it out. Thinking dark stain with white bone tips. It is 66" 50# @28, 1 7/8 at the fades, 1 1/2 mid limb to 1/2 at the tips which I will shave to 3/8 when I finish it.

Nice bow, Steve. The tiller is spot on. On the BW bows I've made I got about as much heartwood as you have in the handle.

Thanks Pat. I have another I did some time ago that has the heart wood streaked throughout the belly. Wish this one did.

Fine lookin bow, sir. Love those white tips!

Beautiful bow Mr. Milbocker. Love the color too.
