metal to wood bond
« on: August 17, 2007, 12:12:52 am »
I need advice on which glue to use to stick wood to metal.  I am refering to glueing a metal point on a wooden shaft. The point is to be slid down a groove in the tip of the shaft and I need the bond between them to be unseperable... thanks a lot!!!!

If you want it inseperable, well this isn't primitive.Use epoxy and then wrap it with sinew or some kind of cordage. But no matter what glue you use, bonding steel to wood is never compatible.

If you are talking about mounting a trade point, 2ton epoxy mixed with fine sawdust works well or pitch glue if you want it more natural. A good wrap if sinew, artificial sinew or silk thread set in glue will do the trick.  ;)     Pat
