3 points i got from remington22.  tom sink your points are amazing and i couldnt be happier with them...  i jumed for joy when i seen the package in the mail. the fiance had to calm me down!

ive also wondered about this myself but have come to the conclusion it is a waste of time.... proplr could just run one simple flake to remove and marks........

I got a sharpie with an ultrafine tip on one end. It works alright, but will wear off if rubbed enough. With obsid you can scratch a signature with a diamond tip file.

there are som scribes that work good. you can also buy a diamond nib for writing on stone. diamond bit on a dremel works too.  Obsidiandesigns.com(?) has scribes. she was here at my knap in last august.

Bowmakers are a little bent, but knappers are just plain flaky.
