The center line on the canebrake is good and it still has the rattles on it !! So I'll add them to the mix ;)
Just in case ######## wants to see what the back looked like before skin.  ???

Turtle the bow looks awesome....very nice, and you have it stretched out too.  Hoping it is headed to my door.  Anybody would be proud to have it.

Have you cut through the back of the bow with the string nocks? If so you might want to reconsider that. If you have an overlay it is OK to cut across the back. If there in no overlay you have created a big grain violation at a critical place on the bow.

Thats why this forum is so great! rookie move. I looked at a bow design in tbb and went after it without thinking that the tip design was wrong!!! :-[ So some one is getting buffalo tips ;D Thanks guys :laugh:

Well one more bow will have a new owner this weekend. poor postal worker had to pry it from my hands! lol i think its funny how making bows reminds me of being a parent, the whole while Im working on a bow i cannot wait until I'm done with it, but when its all finished, its hard to let'm go..

I'm making a string for my trade bow tonight.  I have really enjoyed working on this bow.  I have tried a few new things along the way and I liked how it turned out.  I haven't built a bow since last summer because of other projects and family problems, so it was good to make some shavings again.  Maybe I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

I've got mine tillered out to the full draw length. It's a bit on the heavy side but I decided to give my self a little wiggle room as I shoot it in and get any last minute tillering issues cleaned up. I took it out to shoot for the first time today and I put about 50 arrows through it. It shoots very nicely, I was pleasantly surprised. I think it can graduate to bow status. I'm really getting attached to this piece of wood. It's gonna be really hard to put it in the mail. I'll shoot it again and if everything looks good I might take a little more weight off and then do a hand wrap and put a few layers of tru oil on it and call it done. I'll try to get up a few more pics.
