Wow guys, all these bows look great. My favorite part of the trades that go on here is all the great craftsmanship. God Bless, Joel

Backed the bow this morning, emptied my first bottle of tb3, had to run get the big bottle from the hardware store, really enjoying the stuff.anyway i have got it bending, rawhide and tip overlays are done, and now T C CARP skins are applied ...first time backing with skins hope it is a good enough job...kust some final touches, seal it, make a string, a.d its off to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My baby's leaving home for the first time today. I know you have to let them go, but it's hard. She'll start her journey as soon as the post office opens up after lunch.
To the person she's going to - treat her nicely, she's just a young thing.    Rob
PS  I have more pictures but seem to have forgotten a step in how to post them. I'll put up a few more after I get retrained.
If I knew what I was doing, I'd probably be bored with it, and I wouldn't be here.

Lovin' the Progress!

Got the Pacific Dogwood trimmed down just this side of floor filler.
At this point she's stiff handled 68" ntn, 1.75" from the fades all the way out, tapering the last 8" of the limb to half inch tips.

Now its time to get the tips to line up.
Need to correct for about six inches of deflection, my primary target is the handle area.
Been doing some deep searching on the subject with no luck.
Does dogwood do better with the heat gun or with steam?

Thank You,

-gus

Trying to decide? Should i use the velvet tail rattler on the right or the timber rattler on the left?
how much increase in draw weight will I see after backing ? Any at all?

both of those skins are beautiful but the timber rattler on the left is a little more exciting looking on my opinion.

The center line on the one on the left is very distinguished and if you paint the bow dark under it the skins will look even better

Turtle your bow kicks butt, I love it. Kanpper those skins wont add any draw weight to your bow at all. Im partial to the canebrake as well.
