I'm trying to chase a ring on a thin ringed Osage. Didn't think it was pic worthy. Maybe when I lay out the bow. Joel

I'll be taking my swap bow to the TN Classic to do some work on it while I'm there. Maybe the future owner will get to see it before it's done and even have a bit of a hand in helping build it.  ;D

But if that turns out to be the case I'll never tell who's it is until it ships LOL

I will post some pics of the work being done with some the folks at the classic

Went shooting today with some friends and I found out that the trade bow I made is probably way heavier that I thought it was. I guess my bathroom scale method isn't accurate enough ::). I was trying to make a bow that was a bit under 60# but I was informed by my more experienced companions that there was no way in hell that bow was 60# that it was more likely closer to 70#. No wonder my shoulder's been grumpy with me after a couple hours of shooting it.  :o I'm going to measure it more precisely to confirm but I fear that they are right. if that's the case I guess I'll have to scrape through my 8 layers of tru oil to take some weight off.  :-\

Got the leather built-up handle done on my HBI bendy handle trade bow, yesterday, gonna shoot it some today and if all is well, narrow the tips a little and put tip overlays on. Next week, the finish, I hope!!

Here it is! Finally finished and it's been great. First bend through handle bow I've built and can wait to build another.
55" T2T, Osage, 1" at the handle, 1 3/8" at the fades, 1 1/8" mid limb, 7/8" tip.
1 layer sinew, rattlesnake skin, American bison horn tips, beaver tail grip.
60# @ __ draw lenght, this bow shoots fast and straight. :)
I hate to see her leave but I'm sure she's going to a good home :'(
