I was thinking about basket quivers and came up with and interesting thought. If the uprights were made from shafting material an archer in a pinch could disassemble the quivers for ready made shafts. Now this would work if the arrow he hunted with were a little long. This would leave the uprights just long enough to be useful as shafts.

The tensions of the weaving might make the shafts somewhat crooked over time. you weave the
 basket with wet weavers and when they dry they shrink somewhat causing this tension. Also ribs as big as an arrow shaft will make a bulky quiver.
