Mini IA JAM
« on: January 20, 2012, 08:40:28 pm »
Well I am going to do it! On march 17th and 18th here in Southeast Iowa (Burlington) I with the help of a few others are going to host a Mini IA Jam!!! If you might be interested reply to this post and I will start making a list so that I can send you details.  I know that some are coming and are going to work on projects and that is great.  There will be tanning, knappin, bow making, shafting etc... bring a friend if you like.  My home is in the country so plan on shooting.  My wife said she would make a pile of food.   Her cookin is great!!!!!

Hi John:
I just read about the Mini Ia Jam.I don't know if anyone is doing this but if the weather on the 17th is cooperative I could bring a yearling deer hide to frame, flesh, dehair, and brain tan.It can be done all in a day starting very early in the morning and ending in the evening. To the white dressed softened stage anyway.Getting it smoked would be pushing it timewise plus I sew it in a tube to smoke it and use my sweatshop singer for that. We'll see once.If you need any help putting this on I can be available hopefully.Looking forward to the event.

Got the OK today to take some time off and go break rocks. (Boss thinks I have plenty of rocks in my head anyway). Looking forward to it!!
Bowmakers are a little bent, but knappers are just plain flaky.

Bevan invited me along and it looks like my schedule may accomodate.  Is this restricted to rockers or are we woodwhackers allowed?!?!   >:D

What's the count now?  How many rock-knockers, stave molesters, or abo-wannabees are coming?

On the very slim chance that I could possibly be around, I will certainly make a showing  if I'm within say 50 miles or so.  Enjoyed meeting you John, I certainly wish I could visited longer and maybe learned a thing or two more from you.  Thanks for the stone!  Josh
