Here's a bow i'm making for a man over on paleoplanet. Thought you guys might like a look.
It's around 30lb @ 14. I haven't had a chance to chronograph it yet but i'll let you know what it does.
It's water buffalo horn, twin laminated maple core and 3 layers of sinew.

That is sweet!  A miniature horn bow, wow.  That little thing took a lot of work to make I'm sure.

  My boss has been wanting me to make him a small bow to keep in his office.

Great poundage for that little bow- why do not make that thing  but much larger?  ;) :)

Just make sure you have it very visible or you could be taken in for carrying a cosealed weapon :o

Cool bow mike.  You could use that in drive by shootings or hide it in your trench coat  ;D

Cheers guys. Just measured the weight and it's 42lbs @ 14....no wonder it is a bit of a strain to draw it ::)
I've got a few full sized versions in the works at the moment, 2 Turkish bows like this one and a Magyar bow as well.
When I made the core of this bow I used two thin lams so it was easier to bend into the correct shape. I might experiment a little more with this idea.
I shot a few arrows and it really spits them out, it might be fun to make some flight arrows and see what it can do. The last one I made was good for 200+yds. The beauty of the arrows only being 14 inch long you can go mad with barrelling and not lose too much stiffness. I've got some pitch pine shafts which are really stiff for their diameter which should work well.
