2011 WT buck
« on: December 13, 2011, 01:04:07 pm »
This years WT buck. Unfortunately, I was away during archery season this year, so this one was rifle shot. He's a decent buck, and it was the last day, so I couldn't let him walk.

That's a nice buck any day for me ;)  Good job.  How much do those northern deer field dress?

I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and the deer here are big. This deer would be a marginal shooter. Anything even slightly smaller would usually get passed up. The world record typical WT was shot 1/2 hour from where I live. The Hanson Buck... google it. It's huge.
A deer like this would be about 300# or more live weight. The biggest deer I ever shot scored 164 typical, and the carcass at the butchers (ready to cut up) weighed slighty over 200#. Our harsh winters make for big deer.
