Here's a link to a guy hunting from a treestand and his visitor.  This guy gets the award for staying calm.

"Oh, Im sorry, I didnt realize this stand was already occupied."  Good thing he had that on video, otherwise no one would believe that.

I  got that link in an e-mail about a month ago and there was mention of a 12 gauge.
There's not much that worries me either when I have a shotgun in my hands or across my lap.

I forget there are places where deer are hunted with shotguns.  I just assumed a bow when I saw the treestand.

That is a cool video!  A friend had a similar thing happen to him but with a small bear. The cub tried to climb his ladder stand while Eric was in it. When I got half way up Eric yelled at the bear and the bear hit the ground runnung. It ran in a big circle and head on into the stand almost knocking Eric out of the stand.  The next morning his seat cushion was off the stand and chewed into pieces.

Knowing what I ask my treestand seat to absorb, odorwise, I cannot fathom why ANY animal even in the most desperate of straits would want to set tooth to it!!!  I could see a coyote wanting to roll in it, maybe.
