curly maple?

Hi i just found some curly maple pretty cheap and in the spur of the moment i bought it. Now i am wandering whether or not it is a good wood for bow limbs? Advice? If its not im am going to glue chuncks together and make risers out of it. PLEASE HELP so i can get started!!:)

it can be done , the curly grain tends to be tricky and compression issues can come up , but it is possible . however i wouldnt want to mess with it untill i had some expirence. pick a tough wood that can handle some imperfections on the first couple . hickory ,white oak ,osage ,hard maple

Im a rookie at this but i would say no.Due to the small diameter of an arrow a "curl"would be a serious weak spot in a shaft.
And even if im wrong there are many better and cheaper alternatives...unless its a oneoff showpiece that never will be shot.
