This is some stuff I've been working on lately. I've got a little keokuck, Jeff city, my cooked brown CO chert (i think it's burlington), obsidian and some Texas rock. By far the brown CO works the best and makes the best blades. The texas rock is the brown hunting point on the right side of my hand. Kinda thinkin it needs some heat. Can anyone identify it and confirm that?!? Also will it cook about the same as my local chert?

i like the pedernales raw unless its really nassty. it cooks easy enough at 400-450

 And works like butter after it's cooked. A prime candidate for a toaster oven.

Great looking points!!
 If the pedernales works pretty good raw, I'd start with 350-375 degrees. If it's tough as hell with a lot of concrete...go with the higher temps.
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

yep I would start with around 375 f to 390 f on the pedernales, I have blown some up at 450 with my turkey roaster and I now like to start with low heat and check it,  you can always turn it up if it don't cook but you can go backwards if you cook too much.
