Ok, this one is finally complete...after I posted these pics and unwrapped the bow I let it sit and cure for a week. The Cherry bark was glued down with TB3 but for some reason it never quite cured 100% soooo I ended up having to peel off the bark, scrape the uncured glue off and sand it down again. In the process I wasn't completely sure that the back ring had a ton of thickness let to it so I decided to lay 2 coarses of Sinew down on her...plus I wanted a few extra pounds that had also been lost due to sanding.
Processed a couple more Moose leg tendons and whipped up another batch of Hide glue and laid my 2 coarses of Sinew down. I waited 3 weeks and then picked a new supply of TB3 and prepped my last set of Choke Cherry bark backings (Thank you Elkhunter, I owe ya for sending me 2 on the 1st go around!) and went back to work. Once I was sure this set of backing was a go I commenced to mixing up a couple colors to make a custom dye that would blend well with the Choke Cherry. Sanded, 0000 Steel Wool and slicked her down with 3 coats of Tru-Oil. Decided to dye up some Kangaroo lacing in Black and wrapped the handle...added some black and red thread wraps to the bark joints and red on the handle and 1 last coat of Tru-Oil to finished her off.
