crystal eye in Burlington
« on: July 21, 2011, 08:36:34 pm »
Different notches this time. I am branching out a little.  I was going to make a bow jig today but just can't get this knapping thing out of my blood.

I was as surprised as you all.  I broke the tip off of two just before I picked this one up.  I was just waiting for it to break in the middle everytime I pushed off a flake.  Shannon is amazing he can push a flake with pressure from one side to the other.  I am working hard to learn that but it is going to take time.  I will post the broken pieces and unfinshed points I made today before I made this one.

Look at the days wreakage.   Points on the left broke because of poor support and I stopped on the left ones because I had been there before.  Maybe I will practice notches on them later.  I was glad to finish the day on a high note.

That's pretty, even as a spall.  That'll be another nice one.
