Found a bow on my porch
« on: July 16, 2011, 07:25:01 pm »
When I woke up this afternoon, I noticed a tube on the front porch.  I popped it open and pulled out a beautiful osage bow built by Sidewinder.  It has narrow tips with nice overlays, a leather grip with a shelf, and a nice shine to it.  I grabbed a few arrows and a target and tested it out.  It is very smooth and quick.  I started grouping arrows better than I ever have before.  Except the group was a couple of inches to the left.  I think it didn't like my arrows.  I will just have to make some more ;D  This is the first time I have ever shot a selfbow made by someone else.  I got so wrapped up in making my trade bow that I wasn't even thinking about getting one in return.  When I got done with it, it was like, "wait a minute, I get a new bow too".  And what a great bow it is.  Thank you very much Mr Sidewinder.

The 3 arrows on the left are stacked up against each other.  That's the first time I've done that with a selfbow!

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Clint,

I could'nt be happier that you like it. You make awesome bows too so the pressure to perform was high. I'm also glad your shooting it well. I think the hitting left is a spine or brace height issue.I'm sure someone here more knowledgable than me can help you make the adjustment. Take care and I hope to see you at the Classic someday.   Danny

Nice bow Clint. And with those groups we know it shoots good. Those arrows look familiar ;D

That's it Pat.  Maybe I should try using the other eye, or maybe both :o

I can't wait to shoot this bow again.  Maybe tomorrow afternoon when I wake up I can get a few more arrows through it.  This time I will move one deck board to the right.
