I'm having fun with it Pappy and wondering how far I want to go with it. Already thinking about making a small oven for annealing and tempering.  ::)  Like we need another hobby!  ;D

Careful Pat, knife making is very addictive! You already have the leather skills for the sheath making!

Great looking knife by the way!  ;)

You did quite good, Pat. Knife making IS addictive. I float between bows, knapping and knives. Keeps it from getting boring. ;)

Finished up this one today. I love the boxwood handle. That stuff is very hard and looks like bone or antler. Cool stuff...

Thanks Mike. Yeah, I am. Now I need a good, small, cheap forge to heat metal for tempering and annealing.

Looking good, Pat.  Those boxwood scales do look awesome.  One suggestion I might make is to make your bevel go higher up the blade.  My first several were like you've got there and while they'll take a good edge they're not the most efficient cutters.  The knife dogs and blade forums have a ton of good info.

On the smaller knife I did bring the bevel higher on the blade than the forst one. I'm using files to work these down and I could tell after I tempered the smaller one that it was still not enough. While I was working it it felt good.
Do I just Google..."knife dog and blade forum"?
