bow backing for board bow

has anyone used duct tape as a baking for a bow?? i bought a rolll of transparent duct tape yesterday, i plan on giving it a go on my next bow :)

I personally don't think it would really do much other than add unnecessary weight to the limbs... Unless the grain has many sever runoffs, I wouldn't worry about backing the board. I have made a couple very durable and excellent shooters from unbacked boards, some of which pushed the limits of the wood quite a bit... if you really want to back it I would use silk or linen.

brown paper bag makes a good backing, and a great backing for any art work ya want to do, Bub
failure is an option, everyone fails, it's how you handle it that matters.
