ohh no!
« on: May 25, 2011, 06:20:11 pm »
So i haven't shot a traditional wood bow in nearly 15 years. However, i decided to start making my daughter a bow in the garage,.... yeah you can guess it, im hooked. Is there any hope to recover from this new addiction or do i just follow the grain and keep making bows? anyways, i glad to see there is a forum such as this, im totaly excited, ther is sooo much to learn.

MwaHahahahaha....welcome to the loony bin >:D

I've been at it for a couple years and my zeal for bowyering is stronger than when I started. It can completely take over your whole brain 24/7.

Didn't you see the sign" beware" when you turned down this path   :D

Nice to have you here, I dont think they have came up with a ten step plan yet. You might be able to cut back a little if you start knapping ??? Your hooked thats all there is to it ;D. We love pictures too so if you feel up to it get up some pics of the little one shooting her new bow.

Welcome to the addiction . . .  er .  . . hobby ;)    It's scientifically proven that once you've made a bent stick AND joined PA, your situation is pretty much hopeless.  I think if i lost both arms, i'd still find a way to make bows with my feet ;D  Y'all agree?

Happy bowyer'n!

The only cure is to make another bow.  Of course it is a temporary cure.  It only lasts for a few days, then you will need to start on another one.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Welcome to our  nightmare we hope it doesn't scare you I think  you're gonna feel right at home. OKOK enough with the catchy lyrics I'm not a doctor but I did stay in a holiday inn last night and I'm pretty sure there is no help for you, so make you're self at home. Were glad to have you here and we'll help if we can. Ron
If we can't help each other what is the point of being here?

No cure, I called myself taking a couple years off bow making recently and was looking at the stack of bows I accumalated durring my time off. Having a lot of fun right now just adjusting the tillers and final weights and doing a bit of finish on them.

Welcome,No cure I know of Roy, In most cases it's a life long addiction.  :) :) Some kick the addiction for a while but the fall off the wagon and are right back at it again. :) :) As Miss Joanie says, you could be doing worse things. :)
