WOW!  This is the first image that popped into my head when I saw that blade:

Beautiful pattern that you held with the rock's layering.  Where did this pattern originate?  They look much bigger - are they usually arrowheads or spearpoints?

The rings come from how the chert was formed, think of a jaw breaker.
This turkey tail is 5 inches, this is a average size for the point type.
They were not spears or arrow heads. They are almost always found in graves and killed by killed i mean broke with 1 clean strike. I think that were warn around the neck with a leather thong as a form a functional jewelry. I think when a person of this culture died then they would kill the blade and toss it in the grave with them as part of a ceremony.

Jesse, I think that's one of the prettiest turkey tails I've ever seen! You need to show that one to Miss Johnson ;)
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

Damn Jesse! You seem to be able to get whatever you want out of whatever rock. I was eyeballing one out there i should have mailed to ya. Tighter rings and am sure you could have left some bark on each end. Darn nice TT man!

Thanks guys.
 Shanon its to late :)
I'm taking a brake from working on its big brother, not a turkey tail but a huge cobden dove. I have been at it for 2 hours. I am very nervous with this one and taking the time to set up and isolate each platform.
Well I'm going back to it.
