this is a piece of red oak slat cut from a mill for log home siding.

slightly reflexed flatbow.bullsnake backed,side nocked,wrapped up to dry.48"ntn 30lbs @ 22"...pulled to 24" for saftey.
very stout!

i use drywall tape for ease of removal, and the air passes through nicely to dry it. i use tb3 on this as i want to leave the scales on this bow. i will wrap the ends of snake skin in real sinew and natural cordage for handle.

i wil keep you updated.

you have to have a facebook account to see your bow. I don't have a facebook account, just post the pics here so everyone can see them.  :)

cool. ill be looking.
i started a fb page called "one foot into the wild" lots of good people sharing great ideas about primitive stuff of all sorts.
today...
i spray on shellac sealer and while that is drying i will go ahead and make final bowstring for it, i had to take of the tillering string and quit using it as i did not want to wear it through as i was shooting this little sucker so much!
i will be making more of these kinds of bow and more heavy of course for me.
the lumbermill will let me fill up my pickup truck of these "scraps" for 20 bucks!!!!
woooo hooo
jackpot.

Nice bow, Jamie. Can we see a full draw pic?  I love these simple bows. I'm building a similar one for the PA bow trade.
