Well, I've been workin on this bow for a couple months now. Actually my third, I broke the first two (osage selfbow, and bamboo backed locust with walnut handle.) I can't tell you how frustrating that was. I haven't broken 2 bows back to back in almost forever, but that's another story.
Anyway, while I was licking my wounds from that experience I started reading about the bow trade and was instantly interested. I knew I had a bow to buiild for my brother-in-law comin home from the Afghanistan, but really wanted to be involved with the bow trade too. So, even though I was scared of another piece of bow wood blowin up in my face, I decided to get back on that horse. I know I rushed this bow a tad as it came up with some minor checking in the back, but they look fairly superficial. Overall, I'm pleased with it, 68" t-t, and somethin like 50# @ 28" It has good cast and very little hand shock. Tips are done in antler, and the grip is rawhide. I went back and forth about putting a backing on it. In the end, I decided against it. Thanks for lookin!
Now I got plenty of time to focus on my trade bow...
