Hogzilla Rival (Proven Fake)
« on: May 25, 2007, 09:02:18 pm »
There was a report in our Newspaper that an 11 year old Alabama boy shot a wild hog bigger than Hogzilla.  here's a link to it in our paper. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=333&sid=1266571

The young hunter, and his pop were interviewed on the local radio station a few days ago.  It was a very good interview, But I forgot to google up a photo.. Wow! thats best in show at the State Fair. Interesting how those massive hogs resemble the domestic variety a whole lot more than your traditional razorback.. ;)

Hi VB
Dont know if this story is real but it sure is possible since domestic sows regularly get as big as 1200 pounds and some have been known to reach 1500 pounds. The reason the big pigs look domestic is that they have to be escaped farm animals or at least crosses with them as wild pigs are genetically much smaller.  -----GKL

I'd bet good money it's real.It looks like a domestic that has been in the woods for a little while, but not long.If it was wild for that size,it should have long and broken tusk's and numerous scars from fighting. The skull I have the arrows posted with in another section are almost 5".and that pig only weighed 155#.I'm starting to think people are turning loose BIG pen raised hogs seeking a record.

I over heard some fellas in a dinner talking about this pig that the boy had killed with a 50 cal. pistol. I would have liked to seen him on all fours. I bet it was a terrible site.

Its definetly,a domestic breed of hog.It does have some size to it,but not as big as it looks. The old trick,of standin back from the animal to make it look bigger, shure makes em look bigger than they are.
